About — The artist
Thrice is an American rock band, originally from Irvine, California, formed in 1998. The band was formed by guitarist and singer Dustin Kensrue and guitarist Teppei Teranishi while they were in high school.
In their early days, the band was known for their music built on heavily distorted guitars, among other elements. This style is featured on their album The Illusion of Safety, released in 2002, and their third album The Artist in the Ambulance, released in 2003. Their fourth album, Vheissu (2005), presents a different style made up of drum machines, keyboards, and nuanced, experimental performances. Their fifth album is a double album titled The Alchemy Index, released in 2007 and 2008. Most of the proceeds from each album written by Thrice are donated to charity.
