Tiga

Tiga (Tiga Sontag) is an electronic music DJ, producer-composer, and performer born in 1974 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Tiga is known for his remixes: Washing Up (Tomas Andersson from Bpitch Control), Comfortably Numb by Scissor Sisters, and Madame Hollywood (Felix da Housecat). He also creates his own compositions such as You Gonna Want Me, an adaptation of the lyrics from I Know by Candi Staton (previously sampled by Altern 8 on the track Infiltrate 2002), or covers like Hot in Herre (originally a song by rapper Nelly, which he completely reinterprets) or Sunglasses At Night with Zyntherius (originally a track by Corey Hart).

Before producing music, Tiga was involved in promoting rave parties in his hometown during the early 1990s. He was also involved in the creation of the after-hours club SONA. In 1994, he opened his record store called DNA Records and founded his label in 1998: Turbo Recordings. He has offices in Canada and Great Britain.

In early 2006, Tiga made a comeback with his album Sexor. His record quickly became one of the best-selling electronic music albums worldwide. Between his albums, Tiga Sontag performs his tracks in prestigious nightclubs around the world. He also participates in numerous electronic music festivals, including The Orb Live, Pure, and Jean-There's illusionist show.

He is part of the generation of artists who strongly mark a return to new wave in electronic music, a genre he was a fan of during the 1980s. He often cites new wave bands (New Order, Depeche Mode...) and glam icons (David Bowie in particular) as his main influences.

In 2009, Tiga released Ciao!, his second solo album.
