About — The venue
The 8th arrondissement of Paris is one of the twenty arrondissements of Paris. Located on the Right Bank of the Seine, it is bordered to the west by the 16th arrondissement, to the north by the 17th arrondissement, to the east by the 9th and 1st arrondissements, and to the south by the Seine and, beyond it, the 7th arrondissement.
The 8th arrondissement is both a major tourist destination and one of the areas where the upper middle class lives. It is home to numerous shops, luxury hotels and the headquarters of major companies. It is also a seat of power, as it includes the Élysée Palace and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as seven embassies of G20 countries.
Under Article R2512-1 of the Code général des collectivités territoriales (regulatory part), it is also known as the ‘arrondissement de l’Élysée’, although this name is rarely used in everyday life.
