About — The venue
The Centre culturel Jacques Franck is the cultural centre of the municipality of Saint-Gilles (Brussels) and is one of the cultural centres recognised by the Communauté française de Belgique.
It was founded in 1973, when it took over from the Théâtre du Parvis, which had been created three years earlier under the co-direction of Marc Liebens, Jean Lefébure and Janine Patrick, in the premises of a former neighbourhood cinema. The new centre took the name of the burgomaster of the time, at whose initiative it was conceived.
