About — The venue

The Saint-Séverin church is located on Rue des Prêtres-Saint-Séverin in the Latin Quarter (5th arrondissement of Paris), near the Seine.

The complex formed by the church, the “parish house - presbytery”, the André-Lefèbvre square, and the cloister is delimited by Rue des Prêtres-Saint-Séverin, Rue de la Parcheminerie, Rue Saint-Jacques, and Rue Saint-Séverin.

A parish seat since the 9th century, Saint-Séverin church was one of the 52 urban parishes of the Diocese of Paris during the confiscation of clergy property in 1789-90. Its priest was then one of the two archpriests of the diocese.
