About — The theatre
The Jardin du Luxembourg is a garden open to the public, located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Created in 1612 at the request of Marie de Médicis to accompany the Palais du Luxembourg, it underwent restoration led by architect Jean-François Chalgrin during the First Empire and now belongs to the domain of the Senate. It spans 23 hectares (21 open to the public) adorned with flowerbeds and sculptures.
In 2022, according to a ranking by the English-language website HouseFresh, which aggregated reviews from tens of thousands of tourists, it was named the most beautiful garden in Europe and the third most beautiful garden in the world, behind Gardens by the Bay in Singapore and Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech.
