The cellist Amaia Hiriart, the violist Elena Haira and the violinists Maia Iribarne Olhagaray and Maiana Aguerre form the quartet Habia (“the nest” in Basque).
All four are singers, and with an infinite delicacy they weave the soul of Basque song and the spirit of chamber music together.
With NIJ, Mael Lhopiteau (electric harp and vocals) and drummer Tristan Le Breton imprint the sung and danced raw material of Breton festoù-noz (plinn, gavotte or other gwerz) with an energetic aesthetic borrowed from post-rock.
By collecting and reclaiming music from the north-east of Portugal, the singer-instrumentalists Marion Cousin and Éloïse Decazes play with the possibilities of digital or analogue effects to transcend an ancestral sound material, thereby made new once again.
