30ème édition du Festival Villes des Musiques du Monde : Sulaf + Imarhan + Temenik Electric

Having come to Paris for an artist residency with producer Maxime Kosinetz (Imarhan, Tinariwen), Sudanese singer and oud player Sulaf is forced into exile when war breaks out in her country.

She brings with her Sufi poems by her grandfather, which she then sets to music for what became her first album, « Aba  », released by the prestigious label Real World. Her intense voice, acrobatic oud playing and contemporary arrangements both captivate and charm.

Originally from Tamanrasset in southern Algeria, the quintet Imarhan belongs to the great family of assouf blues musicians.

In ten years, these Tuareg rockers have managed to evolve their desert music, and today subtle electronic sounds blend with the sharp riffs of their electric guitars. Chaâbi, raï and rock form the aesthetic essence of Temenik Electric's expression.

On their latest album, « Habibi my Love  », these standard-bearers of Oriental rock made in Marseille put their sharp riffs, electro tensions and the harmonious nostalgia of the mandole at the service of an intense and generous love.
