À droite le couteau : théâtre
"À droite le couteau" is a portrait of the outer-lying neighbourhood of a small French town between 1989 and 2001, told through the reunion of two sisters. As the echoes of war hang over the lives and imagination of the neighbourhood's residents, the shared experience of two sisters unfolds, as do their lives, so very different from one another.

Overview
"À droite le couteau" is a portrait of the outer-lying neighbourhood of a small French town between 1989 and 2001, told through the reunion of two sisters. As the echoes of war hang over the lives and imagination of the neighbourhood's residents, the shared experience of two sisters unfolds, as do their lives, so very different from one another.
Each of them is accompanied by a guardian figure who appears at the moment reality strikes her. Majda, the elder sister who stays in the neighbourhood until her death, is accompanied by Rabia Al Adawiya, Iraqi poet and great Sufi mystic of the 8th century.
Etel Adnan, poet and painter, a lesbian born in Beirut in 1925, appears to Rim, the younger sister, as she lives through her first stirrings of love.
