Agnes Obel – the Danish-born singer based in Berlin is a singer, composer, producer and classically trained pianist with an elegant and unique voice.

Her harmonious and melancholic chamber pop draws its inspiration from the same intense atmospheres as the great names of cinema, while retaining a refined Scandinavian aura.

This blend of alternative music, neoclassical, pop, jazz and electronica has enjoyed immense success across Europe thanks to Philharmonics and Aventine, two platinum-certified albums.

With the exception of a cover of John Cale, both albums were written, performed and produced by Agnes Obel herself.

Pure, austere and remarkably poised, this perfect blend of instrumental melodies, atmosphere, melancholic ballads and a unique production has won critical and commercial acclaim.

Her ambitious 2016 album, Citizen of Glass, introduces ghostly electronic sounds, modulated voices and a monophonic synthesiser from the late 1920s called the "Trautonium", which allows her to establish herself on a global scale as a songwriter, artist and producer.

In 2018, Agnes Obel signed with Deutsche Grammophon. In the same year, Obel released a Late Night Tales compilation, showcasing original compositions and poetry.

In 2020, Obel released her fourth studio album, Myopia, which, like her preceding trilogy of albums, was entirely written, recorded and produced by her own hand in her home studio in Berlin.

A major world tour followed, with concerts in 18 countries across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Agnes Obel's music holds an essential place in the worlds of television, film, video games and fashion.
