” invites you to discover the world of illustrator Capucine Mazille through a selection of original watercolours illustrating the documentary picture book of the same name, written by Françoise Laurent. What do the animals of the forest, the savannah or the ocean floor eat?
To find out, open your eyes wide! Wolves have sharp teeth, rabbits nibble with their incisors, and birds peck with their beaks. Capucine Mazille draws all these animals mid-meal.
Her watercolour paintings show the real life of nature, but always with a touch of humour and plenty of tenderness. Capucine Mazille was born in the Netherlands.
Her father was a painter and illustrator, and she never once thought of doing anything other than inventing imaginary worlds with her brushes. By hand, in the old-fashioned way, because she loves the feel of paper, the smell of pencils and that of paint.
Her drawings have been exhibited in France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United States.
As an author-illustrator of children's books, she has published a great many titles: tales, school books, stories in the press, comic books, as well as scientific and animal documentaries, notably with Éditions du Ricochet.
