Céline raconte Madeleine

A meeting between Céline Malraux and Manon Landowski about the life of Madeleine Malraux, a concert pianist.

Céline Malraux chose the diary format to give voice to her grandmother, Madeleine Malraux, a form that allows a return to the past while respecting Madeleine's subjectivity.

“Avec une légère intimité” (With a Slight Intimacy), the title of Céline’s book, is reminiscent of Erik Satie, whose whimsical annotations are winks to the performer, and whom Madeleine held in the highest regard in her pantheon of musicians.

This fascinating book-object is the result of a considerable collection of information that Céline, as a journalist, gathered from her grandmother, and which will be reissued in September.

Céline Malraux will engage in a dialogue with Manon Landowski, whose father was the first director of music at André Malraux's Ministry of Culture. Céline Malraux is a French author, director, and researcher in American literature. She is a member of the Prix André Malraux.

A first prize winner from the Conservatoire national supérieur de danse, Manon Landowski has pursued a career as a singer, dancer, and actress. With the participation of students from the piano class of the Conservatoire du 6e arrondissement.

This event is labelled Cinquantenaire André Malraux by the Ministry of Culture and is part of the Monte le son 2026 program of the libraries of the City of Paris.
