An Outlaw Love Story

Choreography and direction: François MAUDUIT

Have you read the story of Jesse James? How he lived, how he died? You liked it, didn't you, and you want more.

Well then, listen to the story of Bonnie and Clyde.

Excerpts from "Bonnie & Clyde" by Serge Gainsbourg.

After the triumph of his latest creation at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, on Audrey Hepburn, François MAUDUIT, former dancer with Maurice Béjart, presents an astonishing ballet about the wild and fantastical story of the two greatest American gangsters: Bonnie and Clyde.

Step into the Roaring Twenties and the American world of that era: its aesthetics, its music and its temperament.

United States, the 1930s. The Great Depression follows the stock market crash of 1929. A criminal couple of lovers, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, criss-crosses the country robbing banks. Soon, America talks of nothing but these inexperienced outlaws. Some admire them. Others are horrified. Whatever the case, hunted by the police, they will soon have to face their destiny...

This ballet conveys the atmosphere of 1930s America, the era of Art Deco and sophisticated evenings with rivers of sparkling wine.
