Overview
Rodolphe Burger presents a new version of his tribute to Mahmoud Darwich, which he mirrors with the Cantique des cantiques, already revisited with Alain Bashung. In partnership
The musician and rock guitarist, formerly of Kat Onoma, invites us to a vast, polyglot, and immemorial love song, intertwining two poetic texts separated by centuries.
On one side, the Cantique des cantiques, a long, sensual love song from the Bible, which he set to music for Bashung's wedding.
On the other, the universal and mythological S’envolent les colombes by the monumental Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwich, which Elias Sanbar, his translator, suggested to Rodolphe Burger.
This juxtaposition subtly embeds the songs and languages – Palestinian Arabic, Hebrew, and Burger's chanted French – into a hypnotic musical syncretism composed of guitar riffs, throbbing electro, and delicate oud.
A long poetic flow dedicated to the beauty of the world and its antagonistic riches. Also discover the shows programmed as part of the FAB: Language: no broblem – Marah Haj Hussein Fading #15 – Sophie Laly L'Odyssée – Cie Bravache
