On Christmas night, the toy comes to life and takes her on a magical adventure: a battle against an army of mischievous mice, a metamorphosis into a charming prince, then an enchanting journey through a fairy kingdom where flowers and snowflakes come alive to dance. The two-act ballet was first performed in December 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg.
