Cendrillon, Drôle d'Oiseau

The story here focuses on a young girl who fights to exist in a world that banishes her to the fireplace because she is different.

The prince becomes the symbol of nobility of heart, trying to understand and tame difference, while the fairy represents the power we all have to become who we want to be.

In this new musical comedy by Arnaud Guillou, each of the performers takes part in the fairy tale: the sisters are a double bass player and a flautist, the prince a pianist, the fairy and the mother dancers, the stepmother performs as a clown, and Cendrillon is a coloratura soprano opera singer.

The chosen repertoire aims to whet the appetite for opera while also varying the styles, from Rachmaninov to Camille, via Mozart, Massenet and… Daniel Balavoine! Arnaud Guillou.

With Pauline Texier (coloratura soprano), Aurélie Cohen (clown, actress), Juliette Renard (flutes), Lucas Belkhiri (piano), Joana Martinez (double bass) and Justine Lebas (dance).

Composition Igor Bouin, arrangements Stanislas Kuchinski, libretto Arnaud Guilloui and Aurélie Cohen, choreography Justine Lebas, artistic collaboration Sérine Mahfoud, MAKATON trainer Vanessa Baptiste, sets and costumes Elise Guillou, set design intern Pauline Guillou, lighting design Marine Pourquié.
