Being alone on stage is a perilous exercise, with no safety net.

Let's say it requires a certain taste for risk… Just as a tightrope walker challenges the absolute by accepting the movements of the air and the gusts of wind, so too stepping onto the stage alone is a challenge… When you create, you must love facing the void without landmarks, without guarantees.

Setting off on a journey into the unconscious. But isn't that the very essence of what we do? Doesn't being an artist mean accepting chance? I was fifteen / sixteen years old when I began performing "seul en scène" in small venues.

I told stories and sometimes let myself drift into long digressions.

It was actually during a solo concert at the Café de la Gare that my life changed… The solo show is a treasure hunt, which gives free rein to a certain form of improvisation… And the closeness with the audience creates an intimacy that allows them to enter the songs in their almost original version...

SOLISSIMO is a different concert, with a different repertoire, like a return to the roots, a return to the superlative essentials… CharlElie COUTURE
