Cock Robin [85-89] - On Tour 2027

& Muzivox Cock Robin, a group led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Peter Kingsbery, became a genuine international phenomenon between the mid and late 1980s.

Raised in Austin, Texas, Kingsbery began his career in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1974, as a songwriter for Wind Chime Music/Warner Chappell, the publishing house of Larry Henley. His compositions were later recorded by Stephanie Mills and Smokey Robinson.

His keyboard skills then allowed him to work with Brenda Lee, a star of his childhood and a legend of pop and country, which led him to tour the entire East Coast and even further afield, as far as Japan.

After nearly three years spent in Tennessee, Kingsbery headed west to Los Angeles to perform in clubs (Madame Wongs, The Troubadour), before quickly forming the group Cock Robin (signed to Columbia Records in 1985) with Anna Lacazio, Clive Wright and Lou Molino III.

The group's career coincided with the birth of MTV and the rise of the 1980s scene, which upended conventions and allowed the band to tour the United States as support act for the Kinks, Billy Idol and Bryan Adams.

The group's popularity kept growing, particularly in Europe, where the three albums recorded between 1986 and 1990 were all certified platinum, with the singles "The Promise You Made", "When Your Heart Is Weak", "Thought You Were On My Side", "Just Around The Corner", "The Biggest Fool Of All" and "Worlds Apart".

Cock Robin reformed in 2006 with its original members to record two further albums (I Don't Want To Save The World, Songs From A Bell Tower) before Anna Lacazio's definitive departure from the group.
