Colette Magny (1926-1997) is the best-kept treasure of French chanson. A singer-songwriter, she left an important position to embark on a singing career at the age of 36. After the success of "Melocoton", the music industry tried to exploit the vein of a white blues singer.
This was to misunderstand Colette Magny, and her desire not to be confined to one style. Her freedom of tone and her political ideas would definitively distance her from radio and television.
Lila Tamazit Trio does justice to her work; it resonates singularly in light of current events. Featuring Lila Tamazit on vocals (voice of Arte, TSF Jazz, Nova…), Vincent Viala on piano (Scène Jazz d'Orléans), David Georgelet on drums and percussion (international stages).
