Indian dance

Dhamaar explores the majestic 14-beat classical Indian rhythm through the interplay between tabla and Kathak, highlighting the complex rhythmic language of the dance and its dynamic movements. The union of rhythm, poetry and gestural language, together with the dialogue between dancer and percussionist, makes Kathak unique and accessible across generations and borders. Bageshree Vaze is a brilliant dancer and singer who has captivated both audiences and critics with her performances and audio recordings for Kathak dance, which are used by dancers around the world. She studied with some of India's most renowned teachers, including Jaikishan Maharaj and the late Rajan Mishra and Veena Sahasrabuddhe, and has recorded six albums. Vinnet Vyas is a tabla player of world renown who studied with some of the most celebrated masters of Indian classical music. Born in Canada, he is a disciple of Kishan Maharaj and has already recorded three albums. Cie Pratibha Arts
