Overview
Adrien's work draws on a textile practice that explores the resonances of artisanal gesture. In his hands, sewing, dyeing and modest materials become carriers of a plural memory, which also echoes the workshops that have always dotted the Mediterranean shores.
At the heart of his work is fabric, and more precisely the old sheet: a malleable element, a witness to everyday life, a territory of silent archives. Whether marked by time, steeped in natural pigments or shaped by the artist, it accumulates imprints, from those of the past to the accidental ones of its present display. Between the intimate and the revealed, it carries within it the fragility of human lives as much as the sturdiness of the gestures that accompany them.
This installation offers itself to everyone as a multiple experience: an immediate perception of a dialogue with the architecture, a sensitivity to materials, and the more secret poetry of superimposed temporal layers.
In the deep dialogue it maintains with the history of the Charité, it invites the visitor on a crossing, a suspension, a moment to feel the discreet vibration of memory within the very fibres of our world.
