On 19 December 1978, the crowd presses into the cine-club, and the usherettes Marie-Jo and Anita hurry to seat the audience. Just as the screening begins, an unexpected incident is about to disrupt the evening, and our usherettes must improvise to keep the spectators entertained. Backstage, Amédée the projectionist and Barnabé, the young and inexperienced usher, try to save the night. Accidents and mishaps follow one another throughout this unprecedented evening, ripe for confidences, little songs and the kind of madness that only a sleepless night can bring on. And what if this one-of-a-kind evening were, for our usherettes, the chance to step out of the shadows and into the light?
