A passionate self-taught photographer since childhood, Frédéric Combeau first trained his photographic eye in the depths of the Parisian quarries, where he took his very first shots using an ingenious lighting system that he had designed himself.

Today a photographer for the Parks, Gardens and Environment Directorate, he roams parks, gardens and urban wasteland to capture the wildlife that slips into the cracks of the capital.

His demanding and patient approach elevates each animal by revealing it within its natural environment.

Through a carefully curated selection of images, this exhibition offers visitors an unexpected face-to-face encounter with Parisian wildlife — a sensitive immersion into a living, discreet, yet intensely present Paris.
