Overview
Festival d'Automne programme at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, featuring works by Cassandra Miller, György Kurtág and Maurice Ravel, three composers from different periods and aesthetics.
The Festival d'Automne, a Parisian showcase for performing arts and new creation, presents here a programme that brings together three distinct musical worlds. It features works by Cassandra Miller, György Kurtág and Maurice Ravel, whose repertoire spans several periods of classical music.
György Kurtág, a Hungarian composer born in 1926 in Lugoj, Romania, is the author of cycles of miniatures such as Játékok (Games) and the Kafka-Fragmente. Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), a French composer, wrote Daphnis et Chloé as well as Boléro. The programme thus places the music of the twentieth century alongside the writing of Cassandra Miller.
The Auditorium of the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, is a concert and performance hall that hosts, among others, the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France. This evening forms part of the autumn programme in Paris.
