Once upon a time there was a little ant so tiny, so microscopic, that she was called "Petite Fourmi": need I say more! That year, food was hard to find and even harder to carry back to the anthill.

Then one day, Petite Fourmi bumped into something she had never seen in nature, something golden, fragrant, crusty and exquisite: it was a crumb of bread. So, to learn where this bread comes from and how to obtain some for everyone, Petite Fourmi sets off on her way.

She crosses paths with the Queen of the Butterflies, the Plump Field Mouse, or the Spider with the Bad Mouth.

The actress, all reassuring sweetness, will shape this little ant before the children's eyes from pieces of bread, and everyone will follow them on this unexpected journey, dotted with melodies and little songs, where the characters will sometimes be represented as simple, recognisable puppets, and sometimes by the actress herself within an ingenious staging that has her change character in the blink of an eye using various costume pieces.

Likewise, the pretty set, simple and effective, transforms as the story unfolds to represent a worktop, a mill and even a bread oven. For Véronique Balme, the author and performer, the desire came to tell the cycle of bread, this food found on every continent.
