Gianmarco Fusari : Hommage à Paolo Conte

Gianmarco Fusari and Cristina Marocco present a tribute concert devoted to the work of the Italian singer and pianist Paolo Conte.

This evening showcases the repertoire of Paolo Conte, a leading figure of Italian singer-songwriter tradition, jazz and pop. Active since the late 1960s, when he wrote songs for other performers before releasing his first album under his own name in the mid-1970s, the Asti-born artist left a strong mark with compositions evoking cabaret atmospheres, orchestrated jazz and poetic lyrics. On stage, Gianmarco Fusari and Cristina Marocco reinterpret this musical heritage. Cristina Marocco, active since the early 2000s with a first album released in 2003, lends her voice to this reinterpretation alongside Gianmarco Fusari.

The line-up takes over the hall at Les Rendez-vous d'ailleurs in Paris for an acoustic or intimate set, faithful to the hushed atmospheres of Paolo Conte's original songs. Audiences present will be able to rediscover melodies influenced by melancholic jazz, swing rhythms and the tradition of Italian song. This concert is aimed at fans of world music, vocal jazz and listeners attached to the carefully crafted lyrics of the Italian scene of past decades.
