Giovanni Mirabassi's new power trio returns to the stage with a project dedicated to the Great American Songbook.
Surrounded by his long-time companion Gianluca Renzi on double bass and Colin Stranahan, a drummer straight from the new New York scene, the soloist delves into this repertoire with the freshness of a first encounter.
This is the artist's first recording under his full name entirely dedicated to American standards, and the culmination of an artistic maturity acquired over thirty years of career.
This experience has resulted in delightful (re)interpretations, recorded in the legendary New York studio Samurai Hotel by the legendary sound engineer Mike Marciano. Two more volumes of this discographic series are expected to be released annually.
