Surrounded by his longtime companion Gianluca Renzi on bass and Colin Stranahan, a drummer fresh from the new New York scene, the soloist takes on this repertoire with the freshness of a first time.
This is the artist's first recording in his name entirely dedicated to American standards and the culmination of artistic maturity acquired in thirty years of career.
The result of this experience is delightful (re)interpretations, recorded in the mythical New York Samurai Hotel studio by legendary sound engineer Mike Marciano. Two other volumes of this discographic suite should emerge annually.
