Overview
A tribute to Serge Gainsbourg, presented at the Sunside, a concert venue in the Lombards district of Paris, built around the repertoire of the singer-songwriter and French song.
This is a tribute: the musicians perform the songs of Serge Gainsbourg, the French author, composer and performer (1928–1991), and are not the artist himself. His career, which began in the late 1950s, is marked by albums such as Histoire de Melody Nelson, released in 1971, and by songs that have become classics, among them La Javanaise and Je t'aime... moi non plus.
The title of the evening, « Les pionniers de la chanson française », places this tribute in the line of authors who shaped French-language song. The concert brings this repertoire together with the world of jazz, the genre to which the programme belongs.
The Sunside, located at 60 rue des Lombards in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, is a venue for concerts and shows. The evening is aimed at lovers of French song and jazz, as well as those who wish to rediscover the great songs of Serge Gainsbourg performed live.
