« Jean told me: « I want to do what I have never done before. To publicly perform a text I have written. To tell my life story, my journey. To be alone on stage. To sing.  »

In his text, Jean recounts the birth of an artist. His journey is chaotic, and the path from Casablanca to Hollywood involves several sharp turns and even a few detours. Jean speaks candidly about the highs and lows of this profession, which is as unsettling in failure as it is in success. He talks about his difficulty in finding a balance between his private and professional life. Jean recounts the seriousness with which he has always approached his profession and the asceticism that certain roles demanded of him. He tells us about the encounters and phrases that have marked his journey and form its foundations. He speaks to us of his origins and his ghosts. Nothing here is dogmatic; Jean does not hold the truth, he speaks from the heart.

To illustrate this journey, I have chosen a black and white, then coloured, comic book universe that will serve as the backdrop for this life story. These images, like the 8 songs that punctuate the show, will, I hope, help to bring poetry to this special moment.
