Overview
Producer Jlin teams up with the ensemble Third Coast Percussion to present the Vernacular project on the Parisian stage.
Jlin rose to prominence in the mid-2010s through a radical reimagining of footwork, the fast-paced genre originating from Chicago, by confronting it with complex rhythmic structures and industrial sound textures. Her albums, released notably on the Planet Mu label, have redefined the contours of contemporary electronic music through their formal rigor and percussive intensity.
On stage, this collaboration with the quartet Third Coast Percussion merges electronic production on machines with live acoustic instruments. This ensemble bridges the worlds of contemporary composition and club music in a set lasting approximately one hour and a half, built around meticulous rhythmic writing.
This concert is aimed at fans of avant-garde electronic music and contemporary percussion. The main hall of the Cité de la Musique provides the acoustics suited to restoring the precision of the timbres and the dynamics of this hybrid performance during this tour.
