La Claque

LA CLAQUE A show by Fred Radix Author: Fred RADIX With Alice Noureux or Caroline Cristofoli, Guillaume Collignon or Guillaume Darnault, Fred Radix or Christophe Gendreau or Fred Joiselle.

Director: Fred RADIX Running time: 1h20 La Claque is back for a fourth season at the Gaîté Montparnasse! Already more than 400 performances. Funny, musical and interactive, the incredible story of a conductor of applause. 1895, in a Parisian theatre.

Auguste Levasseur, head of the claque, leads a troupe of accomplices who, mingled with the audience, are tasked with applauding at the right moments. An applauded play is a successful play, yet two hours before a major premiere, Auguste is abandoned by his claque.

He then charges Fauvette, an orchestra musician, and Dugommier, the theatre's stage manager, with finding replacements to save the evening's performance.

Only an hour and a half remains before the premiere to rehearse the novice claqueurs by performing excerpts from the show, which has no fewer than five acts, forty musicians and thirty scene changes!

The task is arduous: there are only three of them, and tonight their career hangs by a single clap!

After Le Siffleur and its 700 performances, Fred Radix returns with a new show that takes on a subject and a character who have marked the history of the theatre, and treats them with humour, musicality and historical incongruity.

The press says: France 3 “Thanks to his humour, his zest, his gentle madness and his enthusiasm, he's sure to win you over with a proper round of applause” Télérama TTTT “The breezy Fred Radix, an unforgettable Siffleur, takes an interest in this age-old custom that is the claque.

Drawing on historical research, the virtuoso of the glottis offers a new show of musical and interactive humour. Not to be missed” Le Parisien “We're wild about this Claque: a hilarious performance, a generous and clever show!
