La Dolce Vista, une exposition collective d'architectures romaines

The École nationale supérieure d’architecture presents this exhibition devised by Camille Conte, senior lecturer at ensa Nantes and doctor of architectural history.

In the age of digital technology, AI and image-making, what does it mean in 2026 to photograph the architecture of a capital that is ubiquitous in cinematic, photographic and media imaginations?

As part of a study trip to Rome, 18 students from the ensa in Nantes were asked to question the role of travel and photography in gathering architectural models to feed their knowledge and imagination.

This exercise allowed each student to take hold of the photographic medium and to examine its relationship with architectural or urban space.

It also served as a basis for reflection on the mechanisms of architectural representation, between the persistence of a documentary vision and the convergence of viewpoints for a (re)construction of the building through the image.
