Le Chantier invisible : dans les coulisses des films de Jean-Jacques Annaud

The Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé opens the doors to the film sets of a master of the seventh art through an unprecedented immersion behind the scenes of his greatest masterpieces.

From La Victoire en chantant to L’Ours, from La Guerre du feu to Le Nom de la rose, from Sept ans au Tibet to Deux frères, Jean-Jacques Annaud’s work spans continents, eras, and imaginations. From his monumental frescoes to his meticulously precise reconstructions, including his extreme technical challenges, the exhibition is a fascinating tribute to this borderless director who, for the first time, reveals the other side of his sets and his greatest secrets. Like a Benedictine librarian, Jean-Jacques Annaud has preserved all the documentation that tells the story of 50 years of his work. Supplemented by the collections of the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé, the Cinémathèque française, and private collections, the exhibition will allow visitors to discover these exceptional archives. It will immerse the visitor in the meticulous preparations surrounding the making of his films, from documentary research to their theatrical release, including scouting, preparation, filming, and post-production.
