Le Père - Tournée

"Le Père", by Florian ZELLER, is often regarded as "one of the greatest plays of the century" and won several Molières when it was first staged. It has since been performed around the world and has received numerous awards.

Crowned at the Oscars thanks to its film adaptation, this cult play by Florian ZELLER returns to the theatre with Pierre ARDITI and Irène JACOB in the title roles. André is no longer young and shows the first signs of mental decline.

This is what prompts Anne, his daughter, to offer that he move into the large flat she shares with her husband. She believes she can thus help this father she has loved so much and who always makes her laugh.

But things do not quite go as planned: the man who unpacks his bags at her home turns out to be an astonishing, colourful character, and by no means ready to give up his independence...

Both short-tempered and bewildered, he gradually loses his reason and slips back into childhood under his daughter's misty-eyed gaze. One does not accept so readily that one day one becomes the child of one's children. A deeply moving play! An immense moment of theatre.
