Overview
Internationally renowned artist John Howe brought to life the universe of J. R. R. Tolkien and contributed to the visual creation of the cult trilogies The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, directed by Peter Jackson.
Backed by CapAtlantique La Baule-Guérande Agglo and conceived specifically for the area by exhibition curators Diane and Jean-Jacques Launier, the exhibition takes visitors on an artistic journey spread across three cultural sites in Guérande, Herbignac and Batz-sur-Mer.
Close to 150 works, drawings and paintings, both original and digital, showcase the themes dear to the artist: ancient legends, mythical landscapes and fantastical worlds.
A route between art and history, bringing John Howe's universe into dialogue with emblematic heritage sites. You are invited to discover the venues just as much as the works!
