Les Faux British

Picture seven amateurs of English noir fiction who decide to put on a show even though they have never set foot on a stage! They have chosen an unpublished play, a true masterpiece written by Conan Doyle himself (or so they claim!)… The action takes place in the late nineteenth century, in a superb manor deep in the English countryside, during an engagement party. The festivities are finally about to begin when a murder is committed. Every guest in the house then becomes… a dangerous suspect.

These valiant “one-night actors” will very quickly discover, to their cost, that the theatre demands enormous rigour. Despite all their goodwill, disasters pile up at a breakneck pace. In this cheerful chaos, our “Faux British”, armed with the legendary British stiff upper lip, will do everything they can to perform this theatrical thriller, which means so much to them, as dignifiedly as possible.

Will they manage to finish the play? In what state will we find them? One thing is certain: the audience will not stop laughing at such a succession of gags… so British! “It had been a long time since we’d seen an audience this hilarious!” Ouest France “Slapstick comedy punctuated by gags” L’essentiel Nantes “A completely crazy investigation” Ici Loire Océan “An hour and a half of fits of laughter” Big City Nantes Directed by: Gwen ADUH Running time: 1h30 PRACTICAL INFORMATION • Bus C5, stop hangar à bananes • Wilson car park (400 spaces) Reduced-mobility (PMR) bookings: billetterie@theatre100noms.com
