Malévolo et l’Oiseau qui fait Venir le Jour

In the year 1715, Venice welcomes fairground performers and hawkers from all over the world. Malévolo, a famous bird merchant, is ready to resort to any trick to increase his fortune. He dreams of owning “Il Uccelino”, a legendary bird whose song is so pure it can bring forth day in the middle of the night. But how to capture this bird that only flies above eternal snows? Only the marvellous song of a young mute violinist can tame the bird. The wicked Malévolo will then try everything to coax the boy and achieve his ends by imprisoning the bird. Night falls over the city, plunging the inhabitants of Venice into despair... According to ancient parchments, poetry and beauty always triumph over greed and malice. They come to life in the form of a contortionist. A musical, poetic and acrobatic tale, enhanced by the most beautiful pages of the classical music repertoire! The works performed are excerpts from the great repertoire (Vivaldi, Mozart, Ravel, Shostakovich, Stravinsky), but also songs and compositions by Yanowski.
