How old are you when you’re still capable of messing everything up? Of allowing yourself to realise your wildest dreams? When everything goes wrong, there’s always the unexpected.
Edinburgh in summer. It’s raining. In a bar, Helena is waiting for her lover who won’t show up, and Bob is waiting for the keys to a stolen car, reading Dostoevsky’s Notes from Underground to cheer himself up. This is the beginning of a wild weekend, a crazy road trip, somewhere between Pulp Fiction and Little Miss Sunshine.
David GREIG and Gordon Mc INTYRE speak with humour and sensitivity about the passage of time, unconfessed secrets, fading youth, and the complexity of choices. They offer a play with an unprecedented, very cinematic dramaturgy. You leave feeling light-hearted and content, with the impression of having learned something or being reminded that something is beautiful.
