On Choisit pas sa Famille

One of the biggest theatrical successes, finally in Bordeaux: 17 characters played by 5 virtuoso actors - an exhilarating performance at a hundred miles an hour. A wedding. A family. And an evening that turns into a catastrophe… to the great delight of the audience. For her wedding, Yvette has planned everything: a “grandiose” banquet in the refectory of the primary school where her future husband Gilbert works. Charming, isn't it? Except that the wine is undrinkable, the cook has come straight from the school canteen, and the two waitresses form a truly uncontrollable pair of bunglers. And that is only the beginning… The family arrives. Suzanne, the daughter, with her militant ex-vegan. Benoît, the brother, with his new existential obsession. Georges, the Belgian cousin, determined to turn the evening into a national monument of revelry. Add to that explosive twin sisters, an overwhelmed waiter, a listless cook, and a whole cast of characters, each more uncontrollable than the last… and a female dog named Rillette tasked with softening the blows. The result: a whirlwind of misunderstandings, settling of scores and utterly absurd situations. The masks fall, the secrets burst out, and the evening becomes an irresistibly funny storm. One thing is certain: you will never forget this wedding. And as the proverb so aptly puts it… You don't choose your family!
