On the stage opposite her stands Antoine, the man of her life who has become a prefect, whose order she has defied by going to the site of a mega-basin. Chloé and Antoine love each other despite their disagreements.
She calls for civil disobedience; he is responsible for maintaining order. Neither wants to give up, convinced that justice is on their side. But how can they stay together when the rules are no longer consensual? When legitimacy and legality come into conflict?
Public meetings, TV shows, and courtrooms then become the arena for this confrontation, over which hover Anouilh's Antigone and Racine's Bérénice.
