Overview
Bandit Bandit reignites the fuse. Two years after a first album, the most provocative French rock duo returns with 'Cavalcades – Ce que la nuit ne dit pas'. A more direct, catchier album showing great mastery.
First salvo: 'Pas le Temps', first combat single carried by wailing guitar and nervous flow. Beneath rock deflagration, 1980s pulsation à la Daho, elegant and venomous.
The female voice pins down these allegedly 'deconstructed' men still quick to trap women in bourgeois codes: 'I don't need a man, I need nothing'! The slap is chic, but it leaves marks.
This is Bandit Bandit's whole skillset: tension between desire and defiance, between caress and bite. Production is purer, airier. And songwriting-wise, it's a massive leap forward. The group's writing has never been so direct and poetic. As intimate and political.
