Overview
As farmers prepare to set fire to the model of a city that will destroy their land, the project's architect is haunted by a memory resurfacing: the fight her mother waged so as not to be evicted from her flat.
In this documented fiction, Charlotte Lagrange explores the relentless mechanics of evictions and resistance, from rural exodus to gentrification. Through a transgenerational female polyphony, the stories intersect under the unsettling light of a red moon, bringing to the surface past and present struggles to inhabit the world.
Associated with the Scène de recherche, director and playwright Charlotte Lagrange has met residents of the Saclay plateau, young and older, long-established or recently arrived. From these accounts emerges a theatrical fresco in which soil artificialisation, rapid urbanisation and invisible resistance intertwine.
The show follows a committed landscape designer who relives the memory of her own family's eviction. In parallel, a couple finds itself confronted with a strange plant sprouting from their floorboards. Intertwined stories that question dispossession and those who oppose it.
The press is talking about it.
