Overview
From 24 October 2026, the Fonds d'art contemporain – Paris Collections takes over the Pont Saint-Ange with “Qui habite ici ?”, an open-air photography exhibition, free of charge and open to everyone.
With 51 reproductions of works from the Fonds collection, the exhibition brings together 48 artists.
Each reproduction is accompanied by a caption presenting the work and its artist, offering visitors a few keys to interpretation and allowing them to discover the richness of the Fonds collection. Along the route, the Pont Saint-Ange becomes an open-air gallery.
An invitation to slow down, look up and rediscover Paris through the eyes of artists, in a place of passage that also becomes a place of encounter with contemporary art.
The exhibition unfolds across eight thematic routes that explore the notion of the city: Places: before they are inhabited, places are landscapes shaped by human hands.
Panoramic views or fragments of the city, these photographs show spaces where human presence is discreet but always suggested. Buildings: designed to be lived in, passed through or shared, whether full or empty, old or modern, they bear the traces of their occupants.
Behind the façades and windows, human presence can be sensed, even when unseen. Uses: the same places can be experienced in many ways: working, waiting, watching, meeting, sharing a meal, celebrating or moving through.
These uses reveal the diversity of experiences that cross paths in shared space. Presences: cities are above all made up of those who pass through them, live in them or meet within them.
Sometimes visible, sometimes anonymous or fleeting, these presences give identity to places and remind us that every space is first and foremost a human story. Bodies: protected, transformed, adorned, repaired or imagined, they tell a singular story.
These photographs evoke different ways of being in the world, through bodies that carry the traces of an identity, a function, a culture or a transformation.
