Raphaël - Karaoké - Tournée

Running time: 1h20 "Does a scorpion shed its shell for the night?" — The same dream again and again... Going on stage unprepared, what does one do in such cases? Singer Raphaël asks the AI on his phone.

— A karaoke, the AI replies. It's your only chance. A backing track of a popular hit kicks in at full volume, then cuts out: Sorry, you don't have the rights to this song...

Karaoké is not an ordinary concert. It is a free and hypnotic form, boldly experimental in its structure. A labyrinth in which Raphaël loses his way among his songs, ghostly cover versions and the voice of an all-knowing artificial intelligence. On stage: four musicians and an actress, but also mental images rising to the surface, illusions, and a karaoke session that turns into a nightmare. The audience witnesses an inner journey: childhood memories, family ghosts, invoking Bowie or Johnny, real and imagined crashes. The show swings between humour and vertigo, poetry and technological satire. Here, the songs are doors opening onto other worlds. A total show, musical and visual, where the truth emerges between the words, behind the layers of screens. And where, perhaps, the only solution is to dare to let go of one's shell.
