Roberto Zucco

One night, Roberto Zucco escapes from the prison where he has been held for the murder of his father. A dizzying chase begins, marked by encounters that illustrate a quest for identity.

As he is constantly hunted by the inspectors, his angelic face only intrigues them: how can such a handsome boy act this way? Inspired by a real-life news story, Koltès's play explores the dark side that lies dormant in each of us.

It questions our relationship with violence, freedom and desire, and the place we seek in society. Carried by a poetic and raw language, this epic plunges into the heart of our contradictions between fear and fascination. Artistic team: Text by Bernard Marie Koltès.
