Samuel Beckett : Krapp’s Last Tape (La Dernière bande)

A worldwide success. The quintessence of Beckett's theatre, performed by an exceptional actor.

Alone with oneself. Or rather with the man he once was. At sixty-nine, Krapp listens to magnetic tapes on which, since the age of twenty, he has recorded his voice. Like a diary, but one you can hear.

Fourteen years ago, Stephen Rea, an immense actor and one of the last to have worked directly with the author, recorded on his own initiative the words of the young hero, in the hope that he might one day have the chance to perform the play. When the producer offered him the chance to fulfil his dream, she had a stroke of genius, which this show, as captivating as it is poetic and sensitive, bears witness to.
