SATIE EN LIBERTÉ
Texts by Érik SATIE
A reading devised and performed by François MARTHOURET
Accompanied on piano by Vadim SHER
Lighting by Alireza KISHIPOUR
Production: Théâtre de Poche-Montparnasse
Erik Satie loved words as much as he loved notes. Everything fed his curious inspiration: the occult, fashion, Dada, his artist friends, animals, sport, society outings, solitude… A chronicler of the moment, he scattered his writings as he did his melodies, and in this way built a body of work of singular fancifulness. François Marthouret takes it up with playful gusto, alongside the pianist Vadim Sher. A rambling stroll, recommended "to kind and smiling ears" by Satie himself! He would have turned one hundred today, but mischievous spirits escape time…
