Overview
Hector Berlioz | Symphonie Fantastique | Episode de la vie d’un artiste
Masterpiece of the French Romantic repertoire, Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique describes in music the amorous states of mind of a young musician. In the purest Romantic tradition, his thwarted, passionate love brings him exaltation, despair, hatred and murder. In a final delirium, he imagines himself guillotined, then surrounded by monsters and sorcerers who dance at his funeral in a wild Witches’ Sabbath round!
To enter the heart of this extraordinary autobiographical story, the Symphonie fantastique, conductor Laurent Pillot will address the audience, as at every OSYRA concert, to explain, with the 80 musicians of the orchestra, everything that allows us to experience in music and live the amorous adventures of this young musician.
