Overview
“TANGO PASSION”, the new show by the group ASTORIA NUEVO, a variable-line-up ensemble whose members are all graduates of Royal Conservatoires and prize-winners of international competitions.
ASTORIA NUEVO succeeds in establishing its own identity through the energy, precision and emotion that emanate from its performance.
For more than two decades, ASTORIA NUEVO has offered various artistic interpretations centred on the undisputed master of Argentine tango, Astor Piazzolla. In 2026 the ensemble raises the bar even higher with a new Piazzolla-inspired show, TANGO PASSION.
Emotion, passion, dizzying rhythms, tradition, new sonorities, contemporary choreography, modernity, pleasure.
Astor Piazzolla’s “tango nuevo” is influenced by traditional tango, jazz improvisation, polyrhythm, daring harmonies and “serious” music under the influence of Bach, Ravel, Stravinsky and Bartók.
