Overview
Featuring new songs alongside material from his repertoire, and performed by Thomas Fersen accompanied by three musicians, Comme on quitte un imperméable tells, in octosyllabic verse, how the hero — after discouraging beginnings in music and the loss of his part-time job as a cable fitter — is sent to Mexico by his father.
Tender and funny, Thomas Fersen lends his young globe-trotter some of his own youthful memories. With whimsy, he evokes the exoticism and lushness, the devotion and religiosity of the lands traversed, offering us an allegorical vision of his adventures.
A rite-of-passage journey, an epic as pungent as it is preposterous, the dangers the hero faces are so many rites of passage into adulthood. Tender and funny, Comme on quitte un imperméable carries us along with the poetic power of its writing.
Singer-songwriter and performer, Thomas Fersen is a singular figure in French song, with his inimitable gift for evocation.
